How to Apply

Thank you for considering Covenant Academy for your child(ren)!  We are passionate about classical Christian education and the impact this educational model will have on your children, your family, our community, and ultimately, our world.  We look forward to meeting you and helping you navigate the application process.

1. Get to Know Us and Schedule a Tour

Making a wise schooling choice for our children can feel a bit like climbing Mt. Everest.  We commend you for taking an important first step in this process by researching the options available to you.  With this in mind, we invite you to review our website to learn more about Covenant Academy, our mission, our philosophy and our curriculum.

I would love to answer any questions you may have and/or click Schedule a Tour (or select it from the menu) to schedule a visit to our campus, if you have not done so already.  If you have any questions or would like more information before beginning the application process, please feel free to email Melissa den Dulk or call the school office at 281.373.2233.

2. Submit an Application

Covenant Academy accepts applications on a rolling basis. We will begin processing applications in February, however we review applications in the order they are received and placement in an open spot is based on the date of your completed Online Enrollment and payment of your enrollment fees. Therefore, we invite you to submit your application now in anticipation of the new school year!
  • To begin the Online Application process, click Create an Account (or select it from the menu).
  • Then log into your account and Create A New Student Application for your child. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application.
  • After submitting the application, you will be able to print the completed application(s), and if necessary reprint and submit the supplemental forms to the school office.
Note: A non-refundable Application Fee must be paid upon completion of each application.

3. Complete the Academic Evaluation

Once we receive the application, you will be contacted in order to schedule a testing appointment for each student. All students are required to take an academic assessment administered by one of Covenant’s teachers. Testing time takes from 20 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the grade level.
  • Students in Pre-K are given a readiness evaluation (approximately 20 minutes).
  • Students in grades K-12 must test on or above grade level on the Reading and Math sections of the Covenant Academy entrance exam.
  • Students who have previously attended a private school are asked to provide achievement test scores if taken within one year of the application date (STAAR does not meet our achievement test requirement).
  • Students must have a record of good behavior.
4. Attend the Family Interview

The family or parent interview is the final and most crucial part of our application process. Once your child(ren) has completed his/her student testing, you will be contacted to arrange a date and time for your family interview.  This is the time for us to get to know one another better and a time for you to ask questions. We want nothing more than success for each and every student and we believe a partnership between school and parents is the best path to success.  (Students typically do not attend the interview and we understand when exceptions must be made.)

It is our desire to partner with your family in the education of your students. We want you to embrace our school culture and our classical model of schooling. To ensure this happens, we require that every parent read the following:

Note: Both of these documents will be discussed during the family interview.

5. Enrollment

Applications are accepted for new students at any time. We review applications in the order they are received and placement in an open spot is based on the date of your completed Online Enrollment and payment of your enrollment fees. It is beneficial to make scheduling testing appointments and family interview dates a priority for your class placement.  All admissions decisions are communicated via email once the Family Interview is complete.

If an application is received and accepted for a class that is currently full, the student will be placed on our waiting list. Classroom placement is not reserved until online enrollment is complete and the enrollment fee is submitted.

We Look Forward to Getting to Know You!

Again, thank you for your interest in Covenant Academy.  Please contact me with any questions regarding the process of applying to Covenant Academy through our online system.
